Gay Marriage is on my mind. This episode is for the engaged members of the LGBTQ community. Lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual, queer. But really, it’s for everyone else to hear too. People of all races, genders, ethnicity, ages, sexuality, shapes & sizes. When I started the Wedding Planning Podcast at the beginning of this year, it was all fun and games. I hop on the mic, and talk to a small handful of brides & grooms planning their weddings. No big deal, right?
Six months later, it’s a really big deal.
As I recorded today’s episode on marriage equality, literally as the conversation was unfolding, I was overcome with the power of my words & the responsibility of guiding this powerful conversation. Talking to a handful of people who know me from Kara’s Vineyard Wedding is one thing.
Having over 50,000 conversations with engaged couples all over the world is quite another.
Today’s episode was born from a listener comment from a lesbian woman who was concerned by the absence of gay marriage topics on the podcast.
I felt a compelling responsibility to address her concern publicly, so that my position on marriage equality & 100% inclusion is crystal clear.
The Wedding Planning Podcast exists for every single person on the planet who is involved in planning a wedding between two people who love, respect, and fully commit to one another.
